Special Events


Pre-Registering Policy for Special Classes.  If you have registered for a special practice (i.e. Advanced Mind/Body Yoga and Restorative) and are unable to attend, cancellation within 24 hours is required.  If you do not you will be charged for that practice from your membership or sent an invoice. Membership covers these practices, without membership they are $17 for a drop-in.  In your absence we hope you will want another Half Moon yogi or friend to enjoy the benefits of the practice, understanding spaces are limited.
Yoga is meant to be applied to the individual. These special practices are developed for that unique purpose. As your yoga teacher, when I know you are coming and have a sense of what you might be seeking, I can then be most prepared to serve you.

PRIVATE SESSIONS with Julie are typically 1-1.5 hours.  The cost for a private is $70 per hour, $85 for two.

You may benefit from a private session if you are new to yoga, recovering from illness or injury or have been coping with any of the following issues: chronic low back pain, neck and shoulder tension, stress, headaches and/or migraines, depression or anxiety, poor sleep habits, scoliosis or fibromyalgia.  Julie is also a resource to Bikram students who are looking to deepen their experience in the Hot Series.  Private lessons are scheduled at a time convenient for you and will be held at Half Moon Yoga Studio.  Please inquire with Julie at julie@halfmoonhershey.com or call 717-991-5589.

RESTORATIVE YOGA, watch for our April class…   

Are you feeling tired, does your energy fluctuate throughout the day, is your mind cloudy, are you stressed?  This integrated restorative practice will address these concerns by nourishing your body, mind and spirit with supportive postures held for longer periods of time.  Our body knows how to heal itself, this practice will help you learn to relax deeply.  In our peaceful, candlelit studio we will also explore the gift of a quieting restorative yoga practice, pranayama and meditation putting your concerns aside, lifting your energy and clearing your mind.

ADVANCED MIND/BODY YOGA, watch for our April class… 

This is will be a themed and integrated class for those that have practiced with Julie for some time or those that have been yearning for a deeper yogic experience.  Each practice will be unique, butIMG_1997(1) we will move through breath centric asana, exploring postures to prepare us for more complicated pranayama, mantra and meditation.  Sometimes more challenging postures will be included with plenty of prepartion to explore them safely, central channel breathing and chakra focus will be taught, as well as some Vedic chanting.  Cost is $17 for a drop-in (if spaces are available) and regular students can use their membership.

 

 

BHANTE SUJATHA’S ANNUAL VISIT

Tuesday, March 3, 6-8pm, Mala Bead Meditation, donation $35

Bhante will perform a profound blessing of healing energy for each individual.If you practice yoga or meditation regularly, you may want to consider using mala beads as a meditation aid. Mala beads are a strand of 108 beads used for keeping count during mantra or breathing meditations. Malas can also be made of 27 beads or 21 beads for use in shorter meditations. Malas may be used during meditation. They can be made from gemstones, wooden beads, or seeds that match the intention of your practice. Malas are sometimes placed in shrines or on altars as a reminder of vows or affirmations. Malas are sometimes referred to as worry beads, Buddhist beads, or Buddhist prayer beads. Mala beads have been used in Buddhism and other religious traditions for centuries.
